iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus
The iPhone 8 and 8 plus which is an upgrade of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were simply describes as the most powerful smartphones ever. Referred to as a new generation of iPhone incorporating augmented reality, the iPhone 8 has the best camera and the best, most powerful processor chip ever made for a smartphone. It has also been upgraded with a wireless charging system which is truly futuristic feature.
The iPhone 8 design is all glass. It has been manufactured with a steel and aluminium frame with durable glass at the front and the back. Apple have brought back the glass rear made famous on the old iPhone 4. It has silver, Gray and gold colour finishes and is water and dust resistant.
These iPhones have been finely engineered to resist and protect against water and dust. This means that you can, for the first time, take photos underwater with an iPhone.
To explain more about the durable glass on the iPhone 8, Tim Cook mentioned the ingenuity behind the glass. The front and back custom-made glass is composed of a strengthening layer that is 50% of the overall depth of the casing.
It also has a new steel substructure and a stronger aerospace grade 7000 series aluminium band providing additional reinforcement around the edges. In addition to its glass structure, it has an oleophobic coating which is resistant to oil, smudges and fingerprints.
The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have three new glass colour finishes, Gray, Silver and Gold. A six layer ink process allows for precise hues, opacity and a rich depth of colour.
For the first time, the iconic iPhone home button on the iPhone 8 has been replaced with a haptic pad. It looks like a regular mechanical button but in fact, it’s a small pad that provides haptic feedback when you touch it. This lack of mechanical parts should make the button more reliable.
The iPhone 8 and 8 plus features wireless charging capabilities. In simple terms, you can wirelessly charge your iPhone by placing it onto a “power pad” charging surface. Apple executive, Philip Schiller said “This is a simple thing. We do it every day. We use them every day and charge every night. Words fail to describe how much nicer it is to never plug into a cable again.”
The new arrivals will come with the new operating system, iOS11. The new iOS features better multitasking, redesigned controls and new security features.
Camera and video
The iPhone 8 is fitted with a 12MP dual-lens camera. The camera is designed to feature a larger and faster sensor with colour filters and deeper pixels. The camera has the best quality video ever in an iPhone with recording of up to 4K at 60 frames per second.

The iPhone X
The iPhone X has so much technology in so little space. As Apple said “Our vision is and has always been to create an iPhone that is entirely the screen. One so immersive that the device itself and its user disappear into the experience. And so intelligent that it can respond to a tap, voice, and even a glance. With the new iPhone X, that vision is now a reality. Say hello to the future.”
As described during the event, the iPhone X is loaded with new features that fans will love. Tim Cook confirmed that the iPhone X would be released with two storage sizes, a 64GB version and a 256GB version.
